Some of our offers can be booked directly online — you will find the booking route on the relevant offer page. Other formats, such as ALTURA Explore or our cross-country lessons, we arrange with you personally. After booking you receive a confirmation with the meeting point and the time. You will find an overview of all offers and booking routes under Prices & Booking.
Booking & cancellation
Yes. Please let us know as early as possible — in writing by email or in person at the office. Up to 48 hours before the course starts we refund the amount less a handling fee of €20. For a later cancellation, for non-attendance or if you break off early, no refund is possible.
If you fall ill or have an accident, we also refund the amount less €20 — for this we need a medical certificate from a doctor practising in Italy. Please submit it without delay, at the latest within five days.
The full conditions are set out in our terms and conditions.
Lessons take place as a rule — we adapt content and terrain to the conditions. If we have to postpone or cancel a course for good reason, for example because of the weather, we refund the amount already paid in full.
Lesson formats & levels
ALTURA Signature is a private lesson: 90 minutes for one to five people, planned entirely around you.
In group ski lessons your child learns together with other children in a fixed group, divided by skiing ability, age and learning pace.
For children and young people aged 5 to 15 who can already ski parallel. Lessons are on skis only. A course day lasts three hours and bookings start at three days — online, three to six course days are possible; for longer periods we make the arrangements with you personally. You will find the course blocks and times on the course page.
The groups are deliberately kept small and are divided by skiing ability, age and learning pace. On the first course day we look together at where your child stands.
A guided ski day outside Merano 2000 — in the Dolomites or in another suitable South Tyrolean ski area. The day is aimed at advanced skiers and takes place for up to eight people. We arrange the date and the schedule with you personally. Ski pass, transport and refreshments are not included in the price.
Intensive technique training (90 or 180 min.) with state-certified ski coaches – on request with video analysis or optionally gate training. Mainly bookable in the low season.
Four to eight participants. Eight is the binding upper limit — including during the holidays.
Yes, if their skiing ability is similar. Please tell us when you register — we take it into account when assigning groups, as far as the groups allow.
You are welcome to tell us when you book. In private lessons we can usually take it into account; in group ski lessons the assignment depends on organisation and availability. We match who accompanies you on the mountain to your booking and to availability.
We teach telemark on request and subject to availability. It is not a fixed course offer — just write to us and we will see whether we can offer you a date.
Meeting points & getting there
We have two meeting points: the ALTURA Meeting Point Falzeben – Merano 2000 valley station (main assembly point & office), Falzebenerstraße 220, 39010 Hafling and the Piffinger Köpfl mountain station – Merano 2000 near the top station.
Which one applies to you depends on the format you have booked — for private lessons you choose when booking; for cross-country lessons we meet at the office in Falzeben or directly at the trail. What always applies is the meeting point stated in your booking confirmation.
You will find both meeting points under Meeting points.
Please be at the assembly point 5–10 minutes before the start. For the first session, allow a little more time.
By the Merano 2000 cable car or by car to Falzeben. The exact directions to your meeting point are in your booking confirmation and under Meeting points.
Please call the office straight away. We will then arrange a new meeting point with your instructor.
Parking is available in Falzeben. Scheduled buses also run between Merano and Falzeben — you will find the current routes and timetables at Merano 2000 cable cars.
Equipment, clothing & ski pass
No. Ski passes are not included. Exception for beginners: as long as we stay in the practice area, a return ticket up and down the mountain is enough. As soon as lifts are used: a ski pass is required. More information & prices: Merano 2000 cable cars.
Complete equipment with skis or board and ski boots, plus a helmet, weatherproof clothing in layers, goggles or sunglasses and sun protection.
From our partners Rent and Go and Sport Max at the Falzeben valley station. Online reservation is recommended. Whether the right equipment is available — particularly for cross-country skiing, classic or skating — is best clarified directly with the rental shop concerned.
Usually not at the start. As soon as your child skis confidently, poles become part of it. On the first course day you decide this together with the instructor.
Children, supervision & safety
In private lessons, first experiences on skis are possible from around the age of three, depending on development, motivation and individual circumstances. The ALTURA Young Explorers group ski lessons start at five years and require that your child can already ski parallel.
With the longer formats we take a break together, usually stopping at a mountain hut. What is consumed there is not included in the price. With the shorter formats no break is scheduled.
Yes. In Italy a helmet is required by law — a helmet is therefore part of the compulsory equipment for every course. The conditions of participation are set out in our terms and conditions.
Yes, but please keep your distance so the children are not distracted. In our experience children learn better when their parents are not standing right at the practice slope.
No. We build the course up continuously instead of ending it with a race — so there is time to learn right up to the last day.
Prices, payment & discounts
Prices depend on the season — low season, high season and Christmas — and on the time slot you choose. For the private formats, the number of participants is added. You will find all current prices together under Prices & Booking.
Online by credit or debit card, at our office by card or in cash. The course fee must be paid in full before the start, at the latest on the first course day before the lesson begins.
If you book ALTURA Signature, ALTURA First Line or ALTURA Young Explorers directly online, you receive a five per cent online advantage. The advantage depends on the booking route, not on when you book — there is no early-booking discount at ALTURA. For all other offers the regular price applies.
Insurance & safety
Yes. Anyone skiing in Italy must have valid liability insurance covering damage to third parties. The details are set out in our terms and conditions.
No, there is no accident insurance through the ski school. We recommend private accident insurance and, in addition, travel cancellation insurance.
Languages & international guests
We teach in German, Italian and English. French and Spanish are possible subject to availability — please tell us when you book and we will check whether we can meet your request.
Technology & data protection
Booking runs through an external shop that processes payment in encrypted form. How your data is processed there is set out in our privacy notice and terms and conditions.
